Help wanted with my Marinetek fault

Anybody with knowledge of sounder electronics, no reeding of bottom.
all other functions work but no reading of the seabed. Have changed some Zdiodesand IC 555 as recommended, but hasn't fixed the problem.
I bottle of your favourite, for help from an amature electronics bofin who doesn't mind a challenge.

I had problems with mine and got TryMax Marine, down in Capalaba to have a look at mine.

Good, honest service and surprisingly cheap.

I have since upgraded mine though. It is still in the cupboard, what model is yours?

Grunter is spot on Tim, Trytmax are the best around!
Tell Jim Carlson you are from AUSFISH and he will look after you! They are quite good on this brand so worth the run down/up to them.

I have the Marintec CRT colour sounder and a brilliant set it still is.

The Marintecs are better operated in manual rather than auto mode.
There are quite a few things on this unit than stop you seeing the bottom, not saying it isn't stuffed but worth checkiong them all the same.

If you use manual range/depth and adjust the gain, you will do much better.

If you still have the instruction manual, there is a very good self diagnostic tool that checks the entire set from top to bottom and will usually pick up the problem.

If you want to give me a call I can maybe help you out on it. Send me a PM and I will give you my home phone number.
