When buying from overseas don't any of you worry about warranty ? I know you save $200+ or more but if the unit breaks down what are you supposed to do ?

Blimey, Dave, you did really well there. Thought I did pretty well, but looks like I should have shopped around just a little more. Best price I could find for the East coast chart was $340.

Who did you get yours through?

Hi Meat, Yeah did all the checking with all the dealers. The one I went for was Bias. I have got a few things from them now and it looks like the loyalty might just pay off. Was a bit dissapointed with Trymax as the didn't want to haggle at all. I told them my best price and they advised to go get it as they could not come close. The guys at Sundown were very helpfull. I think the only reason I didn't get it through them is I am southside and if any warranty issues could be a long way to return. But very helpful all the same. Just have to seal the transducer through the hull and all is done. Bring on the weekend .

Well done, Dave. The best price Bias would give me was $1250. Had the same issue with Trymax - who Lowrance told me were doing great deals.

Sealed the 22mm (!) hole for the transducer last night. Bring on the weekend indeed!

I am upgrading from Humminbird 300TX, bit like a pedal powered telephone, to Lowrance 337. followed up some of the posts about same unit here, shopped around all day on the phone and got the very best deal right in my own backyard from Ross at Tweed Coast Marine (55248877), $1580 including installation and East Coast chart, great service and planty of advice.

By the looks there is some good deals going around at the moment. It is also good to see that the deals are coming from different stores. I was talking to the guy from Bias today and it was interesting that they all get their stock from Lowrance Aust. I thought they would have imported these units themselves. He said that selling boating electronics is like the servos selling petrol, not a lot of profit in it. Anyway hope to get out on the weekend and give it a whirl.

I brought a 337 in Usa last Nov whilst on holidays. Paid 670us about 950 Aus. Great unit. I have brought units via ebay usa before and been happy. Had one warranty on a Matrix 20. Sent it back via post insured cost 39 to send and had new one back in 10 days. Would have taken that long at least here to have it fixed.
