Ashamed of my old crappy Micrologic GPS that has to have the rubber band wound up all the time, I am going to buy a Chart Plotter. Don't need a sounder.
Preferably only looking at Furuno, JVC and the like but happy to consider anything that someone has found good in other brands.
I found the Garmin 182C with Bluechart to be pretty good. Easy to use too. Has all the GBR zones in it etc. Not sure if they still make it, haven't seen any advertised lately. It is a GPS/Chartplotter only, not a combo like the 178C.

hav a look at the raymarine with navionics chart.
I know u know you electronics and u will check out most rep.brands
For being user friendly pic quality they are hard to beat.
At the very least check em out
should get some change also
