VHF only transmits on 'Lo' on Ch77

    Gday,
My Icom IC-M402 will only transmit on Lo on certain channels; 77 being one of them. I've since learnt that these channels, in the States, are only allowed to be used on Lo power and, since I imported this unit from the States my unit is obviously defaulted to this. Can anyone tell me if there is a way of changing this? The manual makes brief mention that "some channels are for low power only".
    Cheers,
    Dane

Of the top of my head I cant remember what and if 77 is being used for in this Country, but in answer 2 your question, change your channels from USA to International.
This will correct any problems with simplex/duplex, and restricted transmition on other channels as well.
Sorry for a very poor response to a subject I normally like to answer thoroughly but I am about to go off the net for a week as I am shifting house and I better get busy with packing.
    Regards Lloyd

VHF Channel 77 is normally reserved in Australia for serious yacht racing!

Typical Subzero, he gets all the damn glory by getting the right answer but I have to do all the hard work to fine tune it!

I have some stories about that man and the Logan River I might put up one day, eh Lloyd??
