That Furuno link gives me a headache.

The info I have on my old LS-6000 [since upgraded to Furuno colour] is -

    WHITE - INPUT TXD-H
    BLACK - INPUT TXD-C
    YELLOW - OUTPUT RXD-H
    GREEN - OUTPUT RXD-C

I take it you have Furuno NMEA cable?

I'm in the same boat with the new fcv 620 to 172c will be interested to see where this goes. I gather txd and rxd stand for transfer data and receive data.

    Re: furuno ls6100

The connection from Garmin GPS153 to Furuno LS6100 should be quite
simple even though confusing in the manuals.

    Please connect
Com1 TX line (Blue) of the Garmin to the RD-A line (Yellow) of the
    LS6100
    And
GND line (Black) of the Garmin to RD-B (Green) of the LS6100.

The Furuno unit follows the NMEA marine standard of isolated Transmit
and Receive lines to prevent Earth loop problems on vessels, and the
Garmin follows the Computer industry RS232 standard of connecting all
data return lines to ground ( 0 Volts )hence the confusion.
