    I chose to go the Garmin 172c, i havn't read a bad thing about it and it worked out to be $200 cheaper for the total cost of buying the unit and map than the lowrance.

    I still havn't got my boat yet playtime, it hasn't even arrived at the dealers yet

    I'm sure you'll be happy with it mjc...and Garmin has software for a desktop to enable the planning of trips, uploading and downloading, storing of marks etc. I'm hoping to get access soon to check out this feature too.

    mjc - where did you end up getting the best price on the 172c...? I am almost convinced this is the gps I will put in my newwy...

    I got an update from Cunningham's today on delivery date - I will pm you...
