NAVMAN FISH 4100
Hi guys,
Do any of you guys have any experience in this sounder? I have it standard in my Haines Hunter, but i have had problems with it, im not sure if its just me or the quality of the box.
I have the sonar working ok for the depths, it shows drop offs etc.. and acurate depths.
However i have never seen a fish on it ! I have found some very small pixals on the bottom when im on a shoal of fish, however when im on a big shoal with some large fish present , including sharks I never see the fish on the sounder. I have messed around with the settings and downloaded the manual but have almost given up.!
Has anyone else had any problems with this model, and how long is the warrenty valid on them?
cheers.
Mal.

Re: NAVMAN FISH 4100
Hi Mal,
A mate has one of those units, gets the same results, can only find the bottom. I've suggested that he soak it in saltwater overnight and see if that helps
Might be time for an upgrade.

Re: NAVMAN FISH 4100
i think your right Gelsec, I really could do with a GPS and excellent fish finder that does the job its meant to.
Do you recommend any less than the $1k mark.. I mainly fish in water thats 2- 5m deep (bay islands), I think this is a limitation with some of the cheaper models.

Re: NAVMAN FISH 4100
hi mal,
i had the same problem a year ago pretty sure it has to do with the memory try resetting the memory, if i remember right you have to hold down two buttons i think it was menu and on/off at the same time and it will reset to factory settings
