    GPS receiver

    Just wondering if it is possible and if so how easy it is to do to shorten the cable from the gps receiver (arial). Mine is about 3 meters long and only needs to be about 300mm as it just has to come down through the hard top.

    1. You don't mention if the antenna cable is coax or NMEA (wires) type? Both can be shortened quite easily but being only 3 metres long then why would you? If you cut it back to 300mm then if you ever want to make it longer (and you will some day) joins are something you really want to avoid if possible.

    I bows my hed in acknowledgement of SatNav's experience in this sort of stuff!

    We lesser mortals say yer mad to go cutting antennas!

    Not sure why, mainly 'cos the manufacturfer says not to do it but I've never dun it so probably wrong (again)

    Sounds like i best just try to hide the wire as best as i can.
