Compass & Sounder mounting.

If I mounted my sounder alongside my compass will it affect the accuracy of the compass in any way?

HI Heno the only way to check is sit the sounder near the compass then turn it on and see if the compass alters or not hope this helps Ken

It's ferrous metals and electrical wiring (electromagnetic field) that u need to worry about.
not too much ferrous metal in sounders, but I think radios can have more influence.
try to keep the wiring of the sounder as far away as possible and check what's underneath the compass mount.
it seems there's never enough room to mount everything correctly according the book.
