Re: what sounder do u have

I've go a Furuno FCV-600L colour lcd sounder. When I have used it enough they say you can see what type of fish your sitting over by the colours that are displayed.

Am using a FURUNO GP7000F at the moment. Fantastic combo unit that was worth every penny. Brilliant display and easy to use, after a some practice.

Last unit was a Garmin FF240. That unit lasted me about 3 years and sold it with the boat. Great unit and really easy to use. Looking at current prices they are excellent value for money as well.

Re: what sounder do u have

Just ordered a Furuno FCV620 from BIAS today, can't wait till it turns up. Looking forward to seeing if they are as good as everyone reckons. I worked on a few pro boats 10 years ago that had colour sounders, can't remember now if they where furuno or koden, but they where awesome. Sort of expecting something similar to what was, back then, probably state of the art. If the 620 turns out to be similar to the ones we used back then, I will be one very happy little fisho

Re: what sounder do u have

Got a JRC Plot 500F in the big boat and a Zercom LPG2000 in the little one. Refer to sounder reading post at the top. Love both of these units. Would have preferred a FF50 but for a while there you couldn't get them. I think that is the case again after releasing a few FF50s straight after I bought my 500F.

Have had an Eagle Supra ID and then upgraded to an Eagle Magna III+ in the little boat and in my big boats have had a JRC-46 black and white unit which was an upgrade from an old Hondex flasher unit in the 15'er and a colour Koden 108 in my 18'er.

Lowrance x125, nice & simple to use, would like a colour unit, but no funds at the moment.
