    Furuno sounders

Hi, I am currently looking at getting a new sounder and had decided to go with Furuno FCV600L over Raymarine. But now I am wondering for an extra $350-$400 dollars would I be better off with the FCV620 or would the 600L be just as good.To date I have only had cheaper sounders so I am a bit inexperienced in the world of sounders. I mainly fish around Hervey Bay but intend to go outside a bit in the future.

Hope to be out on the water next week some time to see how the fcv-620 performs. Had a good play with it in demo mode today, am very impressed.

    Re: Furuno sounders

Just spent 3 days last week with a 620. I thought it performed very well.

I think it would be worth the extra money.

    Kind regards Trevor.

    Re: Furuno sounders

Peter, I'm also looking at the FCV620 & the 600. From my research it appears the 620 has DSP technogogy where the 600 hasnt. The DSP is Digital Signal Processing which is technology which helps adjust gain, STC clutter, output power, suppresses echoes, also makes the picture clearer & easier to deciper. The 620 is $75- US dearer than the 600 if you buy it from the U.S.

600l has only 350watt of power
620 has 600 watt of power
double the power for a bit more money
