    Humminbird 727

    hey everyone,
I am seriously thinking about buying a humminbird 727 for chasing jack etc. with the side scan. Does anyone have any experience with them, and what do you think of them?

    Cheers
    Josh

    Gidday Josh,
Congrats on the boat matey. You've done well.
I just got one of those (2 weeks ago) and hasn't been in the water yet. Not real happy about that but them's the breaks.
They're supposed to be the bees knees but they said that about the Humminbird 2005 deep that's been replaced.
Convince your dad to come down to Brisbane and you can have a play with mine to see if it's any good.

You might get a Pin flatty at the same time

    Cheers then
    Scott
PS did your dad put the name on your boat yet??

    Re: Humminbird 727

    hey Scott,
Thanks Dad was starting on the floor today before he had to come and pick me up to get the boat registered. We saw one on Ausfish a few days ago then looked into it and they look really good but I just wanted to be sure 'cause it is a lot of money to get one.
I think there is about as much chance of getting Dad to come down to Brissy as I've got of him paying for my boat, thanks for the offer though.
Dad got the name on yesterday.

    Cheers
    Josh

    Re: Humminbird 727

I've had a 727 for 5 weeks or so and it has been the saviour for us to get into the bass on Somerset.

We have the unit fitted with the quad beam transducer but really only use the normal view and not much of the side image. Ours is mounted on the bottom of the electric so can run it at nearly full sensitivity and it picks up a dropping spinner bait no problems at all.

Get into one and you won't be disappointed.

    Regards Cameron.

    Re: Humminbird 727

    Hey Cameron,
I'm looking at the side scan option so I can see the jack and bass around the banks.....I'd prefer to try and set it up on the transom as I'm using Mum and Dad's Minn Kota and they're gunna wanna steal it back every now and again > >. Any idea's for transom set up on a tuffy?

    Cheers

    Re: Humminbird 727

They come with a transom mount bracket and should be no dramas to fit. The fact that you will be travelling pretty slow with the leccy should still mean that you can crank up the sensitivity and enjoy the view.

    Regards Cameron.
