I am having trouble with my Matrix 64x , I can live with the fact that the unit reads 300 m in 2 m of water when under power ( after many transducer adjustments) but now I have problems with the GPS the other day I was in new area and followed a mate to an area I have never been during low light so I plotted waypoints in the hope I could easily follow them back but when it came to follow the screen the boat icon was well awayfrom were I should have been (within a mile) but when I stopped and started to scratch my head the icon jumped and created another breadcrum trail with the othe one still there at a dead end, not good I had to ask this family were I was and the way back as my mate was no where to be seen, I ended coming back in the same way a mile or so from my way points ( which were correct to the cartography) over land. NOt GOOD.
has this happened to you the unit is four years old , throw away ? or is this fixable?

the reading 300m may be due to the setting of the sensitivity too high at shallow water depths. the other problem, i have no idea.

I would get onto the help centre at Humminbird about the GPS issue @ http://www.humminbird.com/normal.asp?id=925
I'm wondering whether the signal was weak and then got stronger or vice versa. Have you checked all the connections and voltage. Odd.
Go through the check list on the site for starters and email them.

i got matrix 37 and get same problem with reading depth at speed. says 1000ft when u know its only few feet.
i read on hear the other night that another guy had this prob and as hellmann said adjust the sensitivity. he said it made a difference. i am going to check that on weekend.

Had similar problems with my Matrix 20. Downloaded the newest software version and it appeared to fix all my problems.
