    G'day
Is the sounder running in "clean" water at the trolling speed, or is it turbulent and full of airbubbles?

Generally planing strakes and transom fittings are to blame for this.

How is it at planing speed and wot?

What kind of hull and engine do you have and what side of the hull is the transducer mounted?

    Re: clutter on sounder

post a photo of the transom of your boat showing the location of the transducer. I have a Hummingbird 450 SX and it reads good at all speeds. Clutter can also be caused by having the gain/sensitivity set too high. Try adjusting the sensitivity.

I tried the sensitivity advice which was also given to me by Jeremy and it worked a treat.

Had similar problems with my Matrix 20. Downloaded the newest software version and it appeared to fix all my problems.

Go to the below site for the newest software
