Thread: Swollen Bungs

    Swollen Bungs

Went fishing the other day and when I went to put the bungs in, they appeared to have “swollen” and were difficult to put in and nigh on impossible to get out at the end of the trip. Replaced them with new bungs and the female section appears fine and readily accepted the new bungs. Has this ever happen to anyone else or am I “Dreaming”????

At the end of fishing my bungs are always really hard to get out. I put it down to them swelling with water. How to fix it, i have no idea

Come to think about it, my bungs seem tight from time to time. I've got a aluminium boat, I wonder if it is something to do with contraction of the metal after cooling in the water or on a cold morning causing pressure on the bung housing??

you didnt by chance smack the hull on the back edge when launching too shallow on a previous trip this can distort things down there. Not that i would ever do that
