Got in from fishing with my new Kota. When i came to washing it I gave the motor a good going over but didn't know what to do with the foot control.
How do you do yours

I've just been giving it a light hose and a wipe down then let it air dry. Supposed to be fully sealed. Apparently!

Had a mate who's pedal started to play up a bit so he sprayed a bit of innox down the side between the pedal and the base. Works a treat now and he is still doing it. Other than that i would say give it a good wipe down. I hose mine down but I don't have a kota.

mine was playin up on the weekend, would only turn one way.......pulled cable connection apart and found a bit of grubby build up on contacts.....put it back together and worked fine since.
roo.
Have had mine for a couple of years in the salt and no dramas.
Always wash down with fresh water and a spray with Salt-x.
Seems to work fine on all the gear. We live a couple of houses from river and same from the beach and in that environment all the time.

All,
BLA strongly urge people to NOT spray foot controls with any Innox,WD type substance as it can be the cause of troubles down the track.
The advice the techs at BLA give for washing of foot controls is warm soapy water or if you are on a dam drop the foot control over the edge (handy when they got hot too).
The motor unit is the same, spray nothing on them and when washing avoid high pressure hoses on them.
