    Furuno fcv 585 help needed

I have got the FCV 585 and started the motor for the first time on Sunday morning after fixing the wiring up to the new unit. When I turned the unit on it started ok but would not read properly it kept flicking between depths this was on auto the battery reading was 14.2v .
When I put it to manual mode it read just fine but turning her back to full auto it repeated the problem it seems to be only on the 200khz as well the 50 khz seems ok anyone got any ideas as to what could be up?
I have a Steyr diesel it worked fine when the motor wasn’t running and battery reading was around 13v?
    regards Nick
