You probably need to go and buy a firewire cable to plug it into the firewire port of the PC. Don't have a firewire port on the PC? That's another thing you should buy. Lots of software packages don't support USB for video. I think windows Movie Maker does though (XP PC Accessories/WIN MM). You probably need to RTFM. Most cams come with a crappy version of video editing software but WIN MM is really easy to use. I prefer Pinnacle 9 as it burns DVDs for watching on my TV via DVD player.
You are on a steep learning curve.

Yep, most likley need a 1394/Firewire card and cable - http://www.lindy.com.au/add_on_cards_usb_firewire.htm

Probably came with some software for capture and editing but would suggest Win MM (Windows Movie Maker) as suggested by whiteman. -
      Download it from - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...viemaker2.mspx
      How to use - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...r/default.mspx

RTFM (Read The F Manual) would be the first step though to see if you need the firewire or if it supports download of video via the USB, etc.

You definitely need firewire, don't try and transfer video on USB it will take forever although you could use USB2. You will also need lots of hard drive free as video takes up loads of space and a lot of RAM helps with processing it

Windows movie maker is an excellent free programme for editing your video but it does not allow you to burn DVDs so you might want to get one of the commercial programmes - Ulead or Adobe premiere are both good

USB2 is about the same speed as firewire, you need software like Adobe to convert to MPEG4 and will probably still loose some quality. Would recommend a good computer with 1G RAM, fast disk and plenty of space.
