    FurunoFCV-585 Pricing

Just got the latest BIAS Catalogue in mail today and the price for the FurunoFCV-585 is $2099.00 was $2499.00 yet on

another site in USA there selling for $1074.00. Why are we paying so much more in Australia for the same electronics.

Sorry if this has been brought up before but it really annoys the hell out of me. >

the usa price will be excluding a transducer where the bias one includes it , add about 190 us for the transducer and frieght of about 80 us .

convert that to aussie which is 1663.00 and add about 15% in duties = $1912 aus

looks like the importers listen to the complaints and started charging accordingly

i would buy the bias one , i just wish they dropped the prices 2 months ago

    Re: FurunoFCV-585 Pricing

sorry i missed the fact that there is free frieght on that one , but the price still is close enough to be worth getting one with local warranty ,

    Re: FurunoFCV-585 Pricing

I did'nt realise that the transducer was'nt included, not quite as an attractive option as once

    Re: FurunoFCV-585 Pricing

you do have to buy a transducer with the us models but i was wrong with the price , i said 190 us but it is 65 us for the 600w transom mount , so that saves a bit more but i figure if it comes down to a couple of hundred bucks it is worth buying local . i paid 1880aus from the states when they were 2500aus here . i think it is good furuno are doing the right thing with the price drop .

    Re: FurunoFCV-585 Pricing

have had a quick look at a site where i recently purchased a fcv620.
the unit was $1109.95 (US), transducers are seperate as there are so many to choose from for each unit, the 525T-TMD, transom mount, 1kw 10 pin transducer was $429.95 (US) and shipping for mine was around $70 (US)
    total of 1609.90
this converted at todays rate to $2104 aus dollars.
you may have to pay more for duty as the purchase is over the thousand dollar mark.
    hope this helps.
i used the 1kw unit because if you have a unit that can do it, why not use it???

    Re: FurunoFCV-585 Pricing

have checked the bias site and they supply the 600 watt transducer, 525t-pwd,transom mount this is only $63 US, this would bring the price back $1625 aus.
still not sure about the duty side of things.

we ship to Australia by insured USPS Air Parcel Post (7 to 10 day delivery).

The price of the Furuno FCV585 Fishfinder with the 525ST-PWD Transducer is $1605.90. Shipping and insurance are $107.96, so your total in Australian dollars is $1713.86 at the current exchange rate.

    Re: FurunoFCV-585 Pricing

just checked the boe marine site and they have an amazing amount of gear, checked out the free shipping for over $400, then checked out the bit about not being able to process international credit cards and not shipping internationally.
have a look lots of stuff there
