    Lowrance problem

    Hi Guys,

I own a 3500 globalmap and it has been doing some wierd things lately. If I do a drift over a mark it starts to leave a trail accross the mark and then five miutes later you look at the screen and even though it definately drifted over the mark there is no trail mark from where the drift began and it indicates that the drift started nowhere near the mark.

Lowrance haven't heard of this before and have advised me to do a hard reset back to factory settings as this often clears up problems. They went on to say that you should do this hard reset quite often as it clears any glitches.

I am most interested to know if anyone else has had similar problems and if they do hard resets often.

    Cheers,
    Greg

    Re: Lowrance problem

No, but I just found out how to do one - Hold down ZoomIn & ZoomOut together then hold down Power Key.

    Why am I interested?
My First time ever problem with my LCX-15CI - the Navionics map (Great Sandy Strait=GSS) suddenly stopped appearing. Can only get it to appear intermitantly (using a "copy" SD of the Navionics chart which enables me to select the GSS then put the origonal Navionics card back in and sometimes it works). (by the way BEFORE anyone gets excited NO the copied SD of the navionics does NOT work, just seems GPS recognizes enough of the copy chip to allow the GPS to select a different map/chart).
Anyone else had this "dissappearing chart" problem?
Before I do a soft or the above hard reset I need to copy down all my settings then I will give it a shot. Otherwise I will talk to Lowrance for help. Is there any other geru I can talk too?
I can't seem to buy the GSS chart anymore - does not even ranks a hit on the WWW. Anyone have a spare one? Could be my Navionics card is dying!!!
This is my first GPS / Sounder problem and sure is frightening!!!!!
    Cheers

When you do a hard reset back to factory settings do you lose your waypoints?

I have an older global map so interested from a maintenance point of view.

    Thanks
