Gold Coast - Offshore Saturday

Am thinking of heading out tomorrow, say around 6, (have to wait for light to jig some livies). Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for where to fish?
I have some good marks for mermaid reef, and some pretty dodgy ones for the 24s. Will be primarily using live baits and fillets.
Should i take any other bait, and which reef would be best? ???
Also last time at the 24s we were just getting grinners >, any techniques to avoid these trace wrecking fish would also be appreciated.

Id go to mermaid on a saturday, the chance of a big spano among the snapper on a tide like that would do it for me
