currumbin/tallebudgera cks - staying at palm beach

    Hello there,
I am staying down at Palm beach for on the 13th and 14th of september and am planning to take my tinnie out for a fish both of these days. I have absolutely no idea of this area but I am wondering if anyone would recommend me fishing currumbin Creek or Tallebudgera Creek. As I said I don't know the area and have no idea what soughts of fish are on offer but I will be using lures only. please help me out if you can or even tell me whether or not it is worth fishing down there or where I could take my boat because I haven't heard from anyone.
    cheers Michael Brewer
p.s My boat is a 3.7 m edgetracker and is to small to take to palm beach reef or any where NEAR SURF
    thanks again

michael - both creeks should be worth a look for flathead on trolled or cast lures and plastics, try putting in at tallebudgera on the northern side just upstream from the bridge and head upstream, there are any number of likely spots once you get past the skiing area

    thank you sharkbait,
will do. brownies fishing report says that Trevally, Queenfish and Mangrove Jack have been on the bite down that way. The three fish species that I have been most dying to catch. Can anyone give me any tips on where to go or how to go about it. probably be fishing tallebudgera, not sure yet. I was also thinking about taking the snorkel down there too. is there anywhere anyone can recommend that I can go for a bit of a look around.
    regards

try snorkelling along the rock wall below fleay's on the ocean side of the bridge, use to be really good, going back a few now tho, also around the pylons of the bridge use to bring up a few suprises

Hi Michael, both creeks have been fishing well recently. Once you go past the ski area at Tallebudgera it is pretty shallow for the next 100 or so metres on low tide, however you should be fine in your boat. Lookout for structure, there's a few fallen trees that you can't miss and well worth a look this time of year if you are after a jack or two.
As far as snorkelling goes, on the northern side of the river on the ocean side of the bridge on an incoming tide is worth a look also.
    good luck
    Anthony

g'day all. I'm headin back down there. last trip in september I scored 3x 60cm+ flatties under the currumbin bridge on the troll. other than that fishing was pretty slow. plenty of baitfish in currumbin though. Do you think there will be more chance of a jack with this hot weather? what other fish are on offer. like i said, The three fish i am most keen on catching are trevally, queenies and Jacks. Are these on the menu at this time of year. I couldn't find anywhere to snorkel. I went just downstreamof the bridge on the northern side and it was very ordinary. I will check there again. is there anywhere else to snorkel also. one more thing... are there schooly or spot mackeral down there at present and is there anywhere close in that i can get to them?
    cheers heaps. Michael
