well the boat is on the new trailer so it is time to broaden our horizons now that i finaly can tow the boat with confidence. so here is hopeing that the weather gods smile on us ausfishers. any info on the sunny coast would be helpful. best ramps to use ;where we can get our live bait . i have the basic gps marks to get me started so anyone willing to help me for a trip this coming weekend(weather permitting)
thanks in advance

Jeffo is the man to ask here Darren 8). He knows it all for up round that way.
If you launch from mooloolaba use the ramp on parklyn pde as it has the best facilities, its on the southern side of the river. For live bait, depending on what u want you can cast net a few of the canals for poddy mullet, they work a treat offshore. Slimies can be found at the shark nets as you head out of the mouth on the left, just cast around till u find em. There is usally a fair bit of bait on most of the reefs, its just a matter of finding them.
Where are you thinking of heading and what ya tryin to catch???
hi lachie
we really did not have a certain quarry in mind this trip was more about getting to know the place a bit. i thought i might sound around in close then if the weather is ok we might shoot out to 12mile for look on the bottom . i will give the boat ramp ago it sounds good we will leave morayfield @ 2.45 sunday weather permitting. i will post how i go sun night no digi camera so no pics .
thanks again lachie
cheers darren
ok then. an offshore trip out of mooloolaba huh. sounds like good fun to me
as lachie said use the ramp at the coast gaurd on parkyn parade down past underwater world... but lachie has his bearings wrong.. its northern side of the river this ramp has a much larger capacity than the ramp at kawana.
what sort of fish will you be chasing? if its pelagics you want i would head either to coolum, murphies or currumundi. Normally this time of year sees the spotties around in good numbers but so far it has been very disapointing. the bait is around, just missing the main ingredient.
if reefies are what your chasing take you pick, murphies, the gneerings, coolum and currumundi all produce fish at this time of year.... i will keep an eye on the thread and when you let us know what your chasing i can be a bit more in detail, or send me a pm and ill give you all the help i can.
hahaha yer it is on the Northern side, thanks for pointing that out Jeffo, tryin to get people lost i am lol . Gneerings might be a good place to start anyway, then see what the conditions and the fishin is like and go where you want from there. Fresh or live bait is the only way to go to mate!!! 8)
hi guys
thanks for the help i will probably start by filling the bait tank then toss some lures over the back and see where that takes me . i will end up doing some sort of bottom fishing i get to board towing lures all day .imay even try some troll baits for a first time as i believe that the spanish run up that way this time of the year any help appreciated
cheers darren
