    Mission Beach - land based

My wife and I (along with very active 5 yearold) will be going to mission beach on Wed 7th April until Thurs 8th April. #She will be there for work (she's a travel consultant) on a familiarisation trip. #We are staying at Horizons in south Mission Beach.
At present it does not look like I'll be able to take the boat due to other agendas but if there is a jetty or landing where my wife can get in and out with her dignity intact she is willing to consider it.
Otherwise, could somebody please let me know where some good land based spots are and the best times to be there. #The aim is to not allow my 5 year old to get bored (James) and also to catch something hopefully, in the small space of time I'll probably be able to allocate to fishing (a couple of hours or so) - you know how it is when everybody has a different agenda. #C'mon help me out.
    Paul
Any fishing is good fishing (should probably say Any fishing is...probably going to be illegal soon)

Hi Paul I go up there quite a bit and love it, very nice place. The nearest jetty is at Clump Point which is further north than where you are. 10 - 15km if you go by Wongaling Beach.

However if you walk down to the boat ramp in South Mission Beach (Beach Ramp) you can go on a walking trail. Walk for about 15mins you will come across a rocky out crop (can't miss it).

Caught some cod on plastic lures there and seen a guy catch 2 nice Mackerel.
