Going camping up at Noosa next week. Taking the tinnie and Mrs Argo and looking forward to a week of balmy winter days on and by the river. Also intend to dust off my old knee board and try not to drown.
Anybody got any reports on the river. Will take my cast net yabby pump and collection of soft plastics. Not sure about taking the crab pots.
Where are you camping? I'll might be up around that region camping too as usual. The river has been a bit fresh lately with the lower reaches fishing a little better. The stretch between the two lakes still has a few jacks hanging around. There's still a lot of muddies around so I'd take the pots.
I'll be staying at the Munna Point camp ground, we have a spot by the river. If you are down that way, look for a Quinnie Dart with Ausfish Stickers.
Last time I went to Noosa we fished the area from the car ferry down towards the mouth - havent fished or crabbed above the start of the first lake. Managed a few sandies on a couple of trips but found the muddies too tricky - only undersize and/or jennies. There was plenty of herring along the banks so live bait was no problem.
