Russell Mulgrave River
We are heading to the Russell Mulgrave Rivers for a few days next week, any local tips or pointers would be much appreciated .
Do we need a castnet to catch bait?
What's on the bite at the moment?
We're from Melbourne, so we new to this type of fishing.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Russell Mulgrave River
Its been a while since ive been fishin up there if youve got a boat be careful ove soom of sand banks cast nets come in handy they can catch you live bait wich will catch you more fish lol.Try where the 2 rivers meet at the mouth of sorensons there are some good holes along the edge of the bank on the mulgrave side there is also a nice hole on the russel side in a back water near a rock on the easten side the rocks called casowary rock for obvious reasons. The mouth is always agood place to have a go asswell fish the northen side.
There are always peaple down the heads who will be helpfull to give you some advise on whats bitting and where over a cold beer and if you want send me a pm on when youll will be there and i might be able to come up and show you around for the day
