    Searaider 2 ,
I think I was parked out there beside you for a while on Saturday morning near NW12.
If your boat has the same handle , I definately was.
    How did you go anyway?
    We got didley squat.
Got so bored started jigging up and releasing baitfish for fun, and weren't they thick , Slimies, Yakkas and those longer herring looking things sometimes 5 at time.
I thought they should attract something.

    Geday SeaHunt ,
Yeah that would have been us . I have got the boat name Searaider 2 under the side of the Cuddy Cab . I have also got a set of Black Ausfish stickers on each side near the rego stickers .
Same as you we got nack all ,heaps of livies .We started at the S1 beacon at about 7AM then moved up to the NW 12 at about 8 AM , left there about 10.30 , back to the S1 , had One good run on a rod in the rodholder and that was it , headed in about 12 AM .
Saw 4 or 5 fish caught on other boats out there . Did you see the guy in the Quintrex Cuddy Cab about 17 ft . He was fishing on his own , jigging then using livies . Saw him catch 3 fish & dropa couple of others .At one stage he was hooked up to something BIG for 20 minutes or so , before he got busted off .
Sportsfish 5 was also out there , he was trolling all over the place . I sent him a PM to see how he went ? He also had a slow day , only catching 2 just legal spotties & 2 small yellowfin Tuna , just off Combie point . Boy he covers some water , saw him around the NW 12 at least twice . Once he headed off into the distence towards Caloundra .

I normally sit on radio channels 96 -27meg & 73 vhf , give us a call anytime for a chat . Which channes do you sit on & what does you boat look like ?

Boy you have to look out for those container ships , you can't hear them coming .

Are you any of these boats ?

    Talk to you later

    Hi Peter,
No I am not in that photo. I was trolling towards NW12 when I saw it go past.
When you were anchored about 30 metres from NW12 , I was anchored about 50 metres Nortwest of you , would have been the closest boat. It is a 475 Quintrex Freedom Sport,(bowrider type thing) 60 hp 4 st Merc, mostly white with a blue canopy (no sticker yet). I saw your Ausfish Sticker , so I took note of the Boat name.
After you left, that guy that that was hooked up for about 20 minutes came and anchored beside me (about 10 metres away) so I had a chat. He said he had 3 rods out and of course latched onto something big on the lightest outfit, 20 lb line .
He never saw what it was , but thought it was a big ray, because it didn't have much go in it. But it took a big livie , I am not sure a ray would, he also mentioned it gave a bit of head shake a few times, rays havn't really got a head so I dont know how it would shake it. Could have been a cobe or some sort of dopey shark.
Reckons he had two other good runs while he was fighting it but because he was alone , had to let them go.
