murphys this weekend

We aregoing to murphys this weekend and i was just wodering if any one has heard any reports of murphys reef lately ???

Also what should we do trollig or bottom bouncing or both ???

any helpwould be much apreciated and i hope to see ya out there

For bottom fishing, I like to fish Murphies during the night on a rising moon. IMO this is when the really good fish are caught in that area. Not sure if this weekend is suitable as I haven't looked at the moon rise times.

Early morning can be fairly productive as well between first light and sunrise. I tend to give it a miss once the sun is up as I find the undersized fish just move in in big numbers and you end up feeding the kids. It would be worth a troll around the area and in closer around the gneerings.

What kind of fish should I expect?

Yep, heaps of Red Emperor at Murphies, up to about 540mm long ??? We always end up catching plenty of undersized ones ???

Legal fish you get at murphies include Snapper, Sweetlip, Parrot (only in daytime), Pearl Perch & Moses Perch - all the usual candidates.
