    Wello/Manly Bream Deckie required 19/06

Following advice last week from Reel Hard & Youngfisho, I'm keen to try one of these ramps on Sunday 19/06. Probably set out around first light, and if the weather's ok.

By a twist of fate, I've got a free pass from the wife & little fella. I've only got a little boat so can't go too far out, but wouldn't mind some company.

Head says to give preference to someone with a vast collection of Spot X's, but heart says a land based fisho without any boat options.

Of course if you fall into both categories, you're probably the man (or woman) for the job!

    PM if interested.

    Mike

    Not real well :-(

I didn't get any takers for the deckie spot, so I decided to try the Donnybrook ramp as I've been meaning to check out Mission Point for ages (with a view to a later camping trip). Since the winds were supposed to blow, the theory was the sheltered waters would be better in the 11 footer.

Hardly a breeze, but it rained most of the time, and really pissed down for several spells. Caught next to nothing, but still enjoyed myself. Thankfully I've got a bimini that kept me mostly dry. Caught a couple of small stuff, nothing to keep (not even the unmarked crabpot I pulled in with the anchor :-) ). Not sure if the weather or outgoing tide (and reasonable) current put them off, but no-one out there that I spoke to did well.

Ramp was great for a small tinny. Gets really shallow in the area at low tide, but the views of the Glasshouses would be spectacular on a better day. Another one added to the "wouldn't mind another try when the conditions are right" list. Still, like I say I enjoyed myself enough and it beats working.

Thats a shame mate, Wello and Manly were actually not too bad on the weekend, we snuck out Sunday morning for a squire attack. Donnybrook is a great fishing place, just shoot up into Glassy creek and flick lures and SP's at the dropoffs and drains, flathead love that place
Good luck trying to find a deckie next time, it is great to see you offered!! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

    Damn!

As Rexy would say "it's no good being where the fish ain't".

I'll deffo give Wello/Manly a burl, and I've also been told that Cleveland Point might be worth a try as I should be able to get close to Coochiemudlo on a good day. You wouldn't happen to know what the boat/ramp parking's like, would you?

With my luck though, the squire you got into will have migrated to Donnybrook :-)

I'll give GM Creek a look next time I head up there. Thanks for the info.

Mate - Cleveland Point has plenty of parking and is a good, double ramp that gets you into the main bay are in 5 minutes. It is probably the closest ramp to Peel, Victoria Point may be about the same. Vic Pt is definitely the closest to Coochimudlo, you can walk across (just about) with a low tide.

    Thanks Wyoming,

What's the parking like at Vic Point?

There are 2 ramps at vicky point and quite a few parking spaces, but its a very popular spot, so on a good day, go early or you'll have to park your rig up the road.
