    Re: Sunday maybe

Looks like I'm out - for the last 3 days I've been keeping a close eye on:

    seabreeze.com.au
    bom.gov.au
    buoyweather.com
    http://spirit.maths.unsw.edu.au/weather

and all have been (and still are) suggesting that the SE'ly will not ease to less than 10knots before midnight tonight. I've been hoping that this might have changed over the last few days, but alas... no.

As Cheech says above, it takes a day or so of calm weather BEFORE the day I go for the seas to drop out enough to enable a boat a small as mine to tackle a trip like that.. [smiley=bigcry.gif]

    I NEED A BIGGER BOAT!!!

Will still keep the ears and eyes on it all though - [smiley=ears.gif] [smiley=stare.gif] - just in case it does come good sooner...

    Re: Sunday maybe

Nice one Wayne, but unfortunately when I say I NEED a bigger boat, that doesn't necessarily mean that I have the approval to buy one - DOH!! Plus I only have a 6cyl sedan to tow with and a garage only big enough to just squeeze my current rig in. When one talks about buying a new boat, they're not just up for a new boat, but a new 4wd and garage as well...

With the weather the way it is, looks like team 'Maccamania' might try just around cape moreton. But we'll have to bow out of the snapper comp because I'm still not sure if we are going - unless you accept a late entry on the day that is??

    Re: Sunday maybe

Chris, sounds like you are planning a sleep in ... 4am ???

I'll be at the south ramp about 2:30am. I want to be fishing out on the banks around the low tide which is 4:30am. Should be 3 possible peak bite times in the morning:

4am to 5am - slack water around low tide
    5:30am to 6:30am - twilight until sunrise
    8:30am to 9:30am - around moonset

    but don't tell anyone

    Catch you all out there.

We're out guys, like to be going but have a few jobs that need to get done. The weather is still looking ok, hopefully the wind will still keep dropping. I think Mark is on the money by leaving earlier, couple of days after the full moon we find its all over by 9am, but thats our theory. All the best.

    Re: Sunday maybe

    Brooksy had a good idea

I think the comp should go on total length rather than weight. Not every has the most accurate scales in their boat and jiggling around offshore is not the best way to determine exact weight.

I know it's only a bit of muck around but overall length would probably be easier.

    We're still in.
