    Gladstone Sunday 24th July

Guys, looking at doing something on Sunday, at this stage am looking at dropping the tinny in at Broadacres and heading off from there.
What's everyone else up to, as I haven't been down through Broadacres as yet, I may end up heading somewhere else, but Broadacres is looking good at this stage, even if it is just for a look. If anyone isn't interested in going but can give me some directions as to how to get to the ramp and then where to go from there, it would be appreciated.
I'm off to the Outlet tonight, there were a couple of Barra caught there last night so I'm going to try my luck.
I know this is a late post, and I'm off now to go for a run down to Broadacres to try and work out where I am suppose to go, so I will check the post again tonight, other than that, if anyone wants, they can either ring or leave a text on 0438 490 234.

If the wind drops out I might head across the Harbour for a run tomorrow.
Will only be last minute planning though.

Excuse the newbie question, but where's Broadacres?
Busting to get my newly purchased tinnie wet.
I guess that means you can blame the wind on me ???
    Cheers,
    Owen

Corry your boat is to big to launch at Broad acres you might have to come down in size. The track in is a bit tight,a few trees etc.
Me Iam staying home the wind is really pi--ing me off .

Nah Blade, I'm going to take the tinny down. The big one can stay at home and sulk. I think I found it today, don't like the looks of it at low tide. There was no way you could launch a boat there this arvo.
I take it that it needs half tide and above to launch from here. I'll see how I go in the morning as to whether it is down to Broadacres or it may be worth a run up to Ramsay Crossing.
    See how things go.

Owen, Broadacres is a suburb on the Old Tanumn Road. There is a dirt track that leads to a dirt ramp out the back of it. Looking at Google Earth, you can launch here and then make your way down to Colesseum. The ramp looks similar to the one at Targinnie Creek up the narrows.

Will check any replies in the morning before heading off, would be good if the wind did drop out Tabs, but the forecast isn't looking to good.

    Catchya's later

    Thanks Cory,
I went & had a look. Was too early on the tide and couldn't launch. More to the point didn't want to risk getting the new work 4x4 bogged on in incoming tide [smiley=behead.gif]
Had a poke around the lillies and the harbour instead. Too bloody windy
    cheers,

    Owen,

Ya should've called in, Broadacres ramp looks worse than it really is. I put in there at all tides and times. The ramp area is as solid as a rock. The lower it is the further in you have to go in thats all because you start to lose the slope. You can have trouble on a really big out, but then you only have to wait an hour or so.

I have a 4.75 Hornet and have no worries and thats with my little Suzuki Sierra that I use to put in down there.

Best area for windy day fishing in all of CQ

Pm me for addy if your coming out this way again.

Wazza, 12 mile is one of the most popular areas to fish just outside of Gladstone. I'm sure there are a couple of people here who can give you some marks.
