Thanks for the tip Perko - I'm in BIG trouble if I hook an AJ - I don't have the gear to turn 'em But good news RE the Snapps & others...
Chemmy, If the weather holds and we do go, I think we'll head to around the middle of the banks first up and then maybe work our way to the north end during the day. I'll be on VHF CH21 or 73, call sign "maccamania". I'll keep my eyes out for you.
I might see you all out there. If the weather stays as predicted, I will probably head to Northern end as well. It will be a better run north with a SWerly up the bum. I'll also be on VHF 21.
good luck to those going out there tomorrow... we fished the northern banks yesterday and the current was the fastest i have EVER seen. we were on anchor and even with a 300gram jig on braid the line was going down on about a 45 degree angle. burleying was not an option. got a few bits and pieces but no snapper.
Chemmy - What sort of boat do you have again? Quintrex Coastrunner was it?? what size and what colour, donk etc??
Oh Jeffo - NNNNNNOOOOooooooo - don't tell me that Doh - I hate trying to fish in current. Ah well, I suppose it might die down by tomorrow??
I was just looking at the forecast synoptic chart for 10:00am EST tomorrow - another low (separate to the main system) is forming down near Tassie which might kick those westerlies up a lot stronger than Seabreeze and Buoyweather are currently predicting - better keep our eyes on that one...
