    Midweek mack attack

Proving that I too can days off during the middle of the week, I'm heading out to bounce tackle of beacons and chase surface activity up the shipping channel and central Bay.

Leaving Scarborough at about 4am, if anyone is around feel free to stop by the white 4.75 Sea Jay centre console to say gidday.

    Cheers

Was very quiet grunta. Spent most of the time at Curtin and picked up a couple of decent bream amongst a bunch of undersize squire etc. Spent quite a bit of time there trying to entice a three 10-15+ kg yellowtail kingies that came up the burley trail to feed behind the boat, but never managed a hook-up despite two runs. Was very frustrating, but great to watch them up-close and personal in 20-odd feet of clear water over sand.

Trolled down to Tangalooma and checked out a couple of beacons opposite, but only picked up a small schoolie on a bait jig of all things. Only saw one other keepable fish caught all day, which was a small mackeral at Curtin.

A bit of surface action around, but generally very small schools not persisting long enough on the surface to get a slug amongst all that effectively. Something was making a huge bow wave around Curtin at times, but I think it was our kingies daddy.

Let me know how you go, I hope its a little better.

    Cheers
    David
