doing the beach thing with 20 capable kids in tow for a few days on Wednesday.

If you see the orange Landy stop for a chat and see what some kids can do thru hard work - the future ain't lost yet, at least not at our school.

They've run BBQs one lunch a week, all year to help finance their school fishing club - 12 sets of new gear (rods, reels, tackle boxes, eskies), half a dozen half day trips, three day trips throughout the year & this all expenses paid trip staying in houses & rental 4WDs #etc

Many thanks to Dave Downie for his support & encouragement together with the generousity of Alvey & Sons who seem to have an endless supply of stuff to motivate & educate young fishos - they did it for me 20yrs ago and they still do it today.

Listen to 4BC this weekend at dawn cause some of these kids are keen listeners, they've chatted to Dave before & they'll be amped up for sure.

Here's hoping the weather gods are kind to you. With the way the beach was last Monday week I think there is going to be a lot of damage done to the Stradbroke bream population

Kudos to all that made it possible for the kids and the youngins for putting in the effort, great to see/hear/read
