    Palmy Army.... 14/1/06

Well looks like the weather is going to play cricket this weekend so a chance to get a fish looks good. The northern boys from Brisy and Mool/ba all seem to be getting excited about the weather.

I will be one of the thousands venturing out through Curumbin Bar on Day light.

Anyway let me know if you are heading out. I will be in the Blue sportsfish Plate Centre Console towing pillies. VHF 77

Any one hear if there have been many fish caught on the reef this week.

    Gday Dom,
We're heading out but will be trolling wide. We'll give you a try on Ch77 when we get out - it'll be a bit later than day-break though

Tow some pillies around for sure if that is your liking . But keep an eye on the other boats anchored and if they are getting fish and you are not then consider joining them and floating pillies / and spinning . Most spots are caught this way on that reef . Keep the general distance between boats unless you wear a hard hat for the sinkers .

Fished the reef for years Hagar.... I know the etiqutte

Jas and Dan - Looks like a change of venue is the order of the day. We are thinking of have a tow around fido's for an hour or two and then trolling lures east of the Nine Mile.

Going by latest Palmy reports, sounds like the Tweed will be a better option. Anyone else off the Goldy tomorrow? We'll be heading out the Seaway around the 0730 mark. Will attempt to set the VHF to monitor both Channels 77, 21. Call sign "Wheeln em in"
