The only Groper creek i know of up north mate is near Home Hill. Which is about a hundred k's down from Townsville. As for fishing in it we camped at the caravan park there and caught mainly queenfish and barra.

The guys that were fishing the creek in boats did real well though, and it isn't far from the park to get outside into the bay either.

Dont know if it's the same Groper creek tho mate.

I know of a Groper Creek near Ayr. Good for giant scaled sea perch

Geez Crestcutter, you weren't there when I started typing about the same place
Any fishing is good fishing (should probably say Any fishing is...probably going to be illegal soon)

Na baldy not true, the creek at the caravan park had a 60 foot charter boat in it that i went out on..

Plenty of water there for a tinny mate.

Caravan park has the basics mate, Ayr is only 12 k's away and has everything if you wanted to stay there. Home hill has your basic food stores etc but the caravan park isn't real flash in my opinion.

Bear in mind if you camp at groper creek your where you want to fish but there isnt/wasnt when i was there any shops etc.

You are only about 1 kilometer from the mouth of groper creek so the ocean might be an option too.

    Hope that helps.

Book a 1/2 day charter with Ryan Moody from Townsville, and tell him you want to fish Groper creek.

Then go and fish the place after he has shown you around!
