G'day young lady, I'm from downtown Ball Bay, but have not fished since last week when dasher, TonyM, bigdan and two-bob stayed with me. We all went out around the Newry Islands and got soaked
Got a nice grassy. The lads went out a day later and got a coral trout and a bluey.
well another few days off and well wasn't there some water this weekend still managed a feed and got a bit wet few crabs starting to move but a lot of floaters amongest them looking forwrd to opening should be a cracker at the end of the week if there's any left!
Haven't been fishing since Awoonga, and with Barra season opening tomorrow, I am almost climbing the walls to go fishing.
Damn (but necessary) work commitments are keeping Thumps and I away from the water. We might have a chance (if work doesn't call in or change rosters in the meanwhile) of going fishing on Sat'dey, weather permitting too.
Thinking of hitting Murray or Marian Creek, hoping that there has been/will be enough rain activity to stir up a 50cm Mangrove Jack for Thumps, as this is his target fish this year. I will be happy with catching my first estuary Barra. Even if wishful/dreamers thought doesn’t work out, or nothing at all even nibbles, its just going to feel great to be on the water.
(You would think that after fishing up here since I was a kid I would have been able to say I’ve caught a Barra before *rolls eyes* guess that’s what you get from being a handline and bait soaker type of fisherwoman ~ rod and reel is just way more fun, more to learn, but fun!!!!)
I don't mind fishing in the rain at all, find it rather refreshing and somehow make me feel more with nature (granted that I have yet to fish in the areas that have very cold weather).
Dan appears to be very happy with his Batfish despite the rain.
My mouth watered on reading Coral Trout. Not a bad fish to eat in my opinion.
Excuse my ignorance, when you say 'grassy' to which fish are you referring to?
On a personal note, and by no means do I expect an answer, being it’s a personal question.....are you a miner/ex-miner?
There is no other reason I ask this then for feeding my own curiosity and to see if I was reading your mannerisms correctly.
