hey hazy you are off to a good spot for jew and tailor.ask at local shop or bowling club the way to jewfishpoint (dont get to excited its in the river and even though the odd schooly still gets taken the rap is from the old days but goes well for flatty and jacks. ask a local the way to the saddle on the end of the headland or a walk out during the day you will see the track facing down hill directlly to the east of the headland. i have also got good jew at the point that faces back toward the creek mouth although the king tides are beast as there are some gear hungry snaggs all through the holes but in the arvo with a sinker big enough just for the swell big tailor are comman here and worth the few bucks for lost gear. the best spot is northern gutters on the north side of the creek mouth but is a 45kms round trip in the 4wd through shitty terrain. if you can get a canoe or surf ski you can paddle across up river a bit and walk down to it. note very important if you fish northern gutters at night and go by small floating vessel watch the currents and do not i repeat do not swim wade or paddle across here in low light or dark. very very large sharks comman as and attacks have been reported here. but these gutters are where we take the second biggest jew. cant give it all away enjoy be rspectfull and you will find friendly locals will put you onto some fish . cheers foockchucker.

not to sure with regs these days hazy but im pretty sure if you do the longer drive up to station creek ( ask for local directions ) and put the effort in i would spend the extra time to go to this beach as the worms are big and more comman and if you take the extra time northern gutters is at the southern end of this big beach and you could fish after you get your worms. will probly be best to use hole worms on a 4
/o as there are worm hungry schooleys @ on dark high tide is prefured but run out we have taken fish as well. if you intend to fish into the night with a rising tide i would piss the worms of and fish with pillies to try to get a big livey and if the tailor are scarce throw the light gear out and get some stud bream. liveys will reduce the amount of rays caught but a big
9fresh fresh mullet fillet has seen us loaded up with some monster jew best at northern gutters i got on a whole slab of fresh caught beach mullet i got on worms fishing for whitting. put him out and @ 11pm the big wilson bent to its limit the big green alvey had skin wedged into the spool and after a long fight a 31 kilo jew graced the tray of our 4wd . put in the long hours on this beach overnight and you will be rewarded if it gets to slow throw out the light gear but after dark always have some big meal out on offer. p.s take a good gaff as the gutters have wicked run back due to there depth and you do not whant to see a big jew throw your hook or snap you off at your feet . enjoy i will be expecting commision cheers foockchucker.

just check with the local ranger as there are reports and urban myths @ each year for the closure of 4wd access to the beach but most are just to keep numbers down. but do ring first it will happen with all the closures down that way and its a long walk to even get near the beach from where they would block the access track. if you can still drive there go to pebbly beach to the north say no more but big livey plus.
