    Want to head out this weekend, but the wether isn't looking too good. Any advice from Darwin memebrs

    Coastal Waters Wind Warning
    For coastal waters between Cape Don and the Queensland border.
    Issued at 10:50 am CST on Friday 4 August 2006

    Synoptic situation
    A developing high is moving steadily eastwards across southern Australia.

    Strong Wind Warning
    Cape Don to the Queensland Border
    Southeast winds at 20/30 knots, easing temporarily to 15/25 knots over the western Gulf of Carpentaria during the afternoon and evening. Seas 2.5 to 3 metres.

    These conditions should persist for at least another 2 or 3 days.

    The next warning will be issued by 5:00 pm CST.

    Please be aware
    Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
