crabbing/fishing bris
Hi all
i am new to Ausfish as well as Brisbane.
I own a 3.85 tinny with a Mercury 15hp outboard and am looking for any info about suitable places to crab as well as to wet a line.I have heard a lot about the "PIN".
Where is the PIN and where are some boat ramps to access the PIN?
I have also heard alot about Manly or Victoria Point but fear that it tend to blow up there quite regulary.
Any info that can be supplied on where is good around Brisbane would be greatly appricated.
Cheers
Dave

Being new to Brisbane, the best thing you can do is buy a Beacon to Beacon from most good tackle shops.
It's like a street directory for the water.
Brisbane River would be a good starting spot, with ramps at Whyte Island and Colmslie.

The "PIN" is just the abbreviation for Jumpinpin, southern moreton bay, inbetween Brissy and the Gold Coast.
And yes buy beacon to beacon great book.

if you want to fish the pin, the closest boat ramp is jacobs well. Make sure you have a map of the area or you could get lost, especially in the dark and there are lots of sandbank everywhere. You should try mud island or st helena island. peel is also good. If it blows , you can still get back just takes a little longer.
