Mate staying at the resort you will have no problems fishing what ever you like creeks , headlands and islands. Cape richards is a great place . grab a map and talk to the blokes who work there and you will soon have it sorted . Enjoy your trip

There is only one resort on Hinchinbrook at the northen end and the fishing is close to the resort.

Mate you can't hire boats at Cape richards resort take your 435 it will be ideal for around the bay and even an early morning trip to Eva island if the weather is all right. Don't worry you will see what i mean when you get there .
    Cheers

    Re: hinchinbrook

I would consider staying at Port Hinchinbrook on the mainland at cardwell and base yourself there for fishing. I am sure you could hire a boat in cardwell. I prefer Lucinda as my base for fishing H'Brook Channel and stay at Hinchinbrook Marine Cove www.hinchinbrookmarinecove.com.au/ but that is because it is closer to me from Townsville and i have had more luck fishing and more options. (Channel, Jetty and close reef). If you want to definately stay on the Island then there is only the one option. I am sure you could hire boats from Lucinda aswell or pick one up from T'Ville. Hope this helps
