Bugger, just seen this. I had a day off and ended up just taking the cast net and rod down the ross. Nice size mullet around. Heaps of those beakless gar too. Got a couple of small squid that didn't last long, bringing in equally small fingermark but a bit of fun.
Any fishing is good fishing (should probably say Any fishing is...probably going to be illegal soon)
Was thinking of heading to either the cape or west point for a few hours first thing - might wait till the morning and see what the forecast is like.
Hey nonibbles where in the ross did you get those gar, as they are gold. #Keep as many as possible they are awesome bait. #Live or dead baits for pelagics, or as gun live baits for barra during the warmer months. #Jacks don't mind them either.
This week I'm going to have a shot at the barra, then once the weather breaks, bring on the fingermark.
Leezor, was thinking of heading out but discovered a flat on my trailer last night. Figured it was a sign. weather came up pretty early by the looks. did you end up going?
Shanos, no I didn't end up going. Got up at 5am and checked the forecast, whick looked sorta OK. Decided to hang onto my fuel until the weather looks more promising.
Am hanging out for a reef trip....
I'm hearing you Leezor. Looking at the forecast we could be a chance for the weekend... all though, with my luck, i doubt it. Fingers crossed though.
Shanoss, I reckon your right about the flat tyre being a sign, the wind picked up pretty early.
This weather is giving me the sh!t$ BIG time, don't like the chances of it clearing up by weekend either
I reckon it's a matter of making the lost of it when we finally do get a string of good days together, only hope its sooner rather than later.
Cheers,
Lee
me too!!!!!!. Its meant to be a month of calm weather, with the trade winds dropping out. Too bad it hasen't, i've got a major fishing itch to scratch too say the least. I've being trying to suppress it with piss, though there is no substitute.
hey guys, just got home from work and checked the forecast. Saturday will be the day. have yoiu checked the charts? not an isobar for miles! i'm planning on heading out about midnight friday. I'm thinking Hopkinsons for a trout session.
Yep, looks like it's gonna be ok. I will be heading out if the weather holds aswell, lets keep our fingers crossed.
I'm thinking i'll head out to salamander and bowling green tomorrow as well. two trips in one week? my god it must be christmas!
Shanoss, what sorta boat will you be in? - will keep an eye out for ya.
Was thinking slashers or maybe Hopkinsons aswell.
