YAMBA - ANY CLUES ON OFFSHORE

Heading to Yamba (northern NSW) on Saturday with the bride for a week in the polypropylene Hilton - never been there before. Any starting places in terms of reefs offshore? Not asking for the exact 'secret' GPS spots - just a general area which we can use as a starting point on the GPS. Have a well kitted 5 metre cuddy cab and generally fish the 35's, 37's southern 29's and similar offshore from Brisbane when conditions are right. Would greatly appreciate any local info. advice, tips. Must be seasons for 'firsts' - never posted to a chatboard before either. Kind regards. Superdaff

Sorry to say daff but not a great deal to report on from Yamba when it comes to reef.
I think most reef is to the south and a fare way at that, off Sandon and maybe Brooms Head.
Good River fishing though, according to those that catch fish in it.
    I could br wrong though.
Maybe someone out there that fishes that area a fare bit knows more than me (it wouldn't be hard).
But I only live 50 minutes away and have never heard much about reef down that way.
    Regards and good luck

Beach launching off spookys beach in angourie and heading south towards the southern headlands usually produces a few fish.
Havent got any exact marks but a net search should produce some, if not then when you get here go into the local stores.
I know theres a reef not far from the mouth that holds a good kingy population but dont no the exact co-ords.
Big river bait and tackle in maclaen or yamba bait and tackle should both have a few starter marks to get you going.
