South West Rocks NSW Xmas - New Year

I will be going down to South West Rocks for Xmas to New Year,

I was wondering where the best places to go fishing around this area..

I hope to try some off shore but the Family are not too keen to go outside.. so some estuary fisihng will be the main go..

Any idea, help etc would be great .....

Anybody be around there at this time ...

Plenty of sandflats and 2 large rivers. Lots of fish producing rockwalls around SWR and same with the beaches. Plenty off bait at load tides especially soldier crabs and Pink Nippers. I'll be down after Boxing Day Launching off fishermans reach.

Hope to get one day offshore and down towards fish rock. If not the esturies will keep me amused especially if I find some Blue swimmer crabs. Unfortunatly wont be there long. Will be based at Stuarts point. Either fishing or drinking but never both together.

Good Luck Mick. You should find fish easy. Oh offshore river launches can be a little tricky going across the bar oon the low tide but providing there isnt much swell and youve don it before youll be Ok. Might see you there. I'll be in a 4.80 Barraider allycraft green in colour with canopy and 75 merc out the back.

When you cross the bridge at jerseyville to the western side and head south towards smithtown around 1klm from the bridge is a big sandbank that has stacks of yabbies, you can just park on the river bank for access, and i would try the banks up from kemps corner, for offshore why not just use the back creek bar crossing? its protected from the south, enjoy your trip its a very nice area that ive visited to see family since early 60s.
