Pimp Machine Test Run Thur AM at Runaway Bay

Doing the test run cum sea trial with a mate in the multipurpose 24 ft Pimp Machine tomorrow 28th subject to weather.

Probably leave the front seats in instead of the casting platform but might get a cuppa with the fridge and the gas cooker amidships.

    Should be interesting anyway.

Re: Pimp Machine Test Run Thur AM at Runaway Bay

    Hi Guys

Been testing, stiff SE breeze no rain thankfully.

Very nicely built hull 7.36 m by 2.5 m with good deep dry entry and copes with big boat wakes reasonably well and fairly soft landing into wake.

Lots of good storage options under seats and centre floor storage.

    Seats up to 12

Front seat area with drop in flatform instead of seats would be a great casting area. Could do similar at back too

Has tables front and rear with surround seating at both ends.

Offset side consol with fridge and gas cooker centre of boat on port side opposite side consol.

    Front and rear ladders fitted

130 lt fuel for 140 HP Suz 4 stroke with hydraulic steering. Set and forget steering tracks very well. Nice and quite motor like an Etec. Speed approx 40 kn with up to 200HP 1500kg

Good for open boat buffs who don't mind the weather.

Good mix of family, water sport and fishing with the platforms dropped in aft and or forward istead of cushions.

Very well laid up hull with very impressive glass work (seen at factory during lay up) but still reasonably light with good use of modern glass kevlar etc. Clever use of a fibre glass pre prepared stringer / frame section installed and fixed to hull after hull lay up and before frp floor is installed.

Could be an interesting unit with a walk around cuddy unit up front instead of the open deck set up

Not enough shelter for this GOM

Pricing needs to be better but I got the feeling the numbers were an ambit claim. Boat is on the works trailer and would be better on a dual axle 13 or 14 inch set up.

All in all interesting very well made but in a market segment full of import frp and local Al pressed and plate similar but not as long or with the big range of use options this could offer. ie good bass boat, good ski boat good family set up with cooking and fridge very good high bow for bay use .

Hope these impresions are of interest. No I don't sell em.

    Cheers

    Chimo
