    Hopefully Today

2007 has not started off well on the fishing front...headed to Wello on New Years Day...too choppy for where we wanted to fish..so came home. Now I have a cold.
Decided to venture to the Pine River today and ..wait for it...hurl some plastics around (not too hopeful on that front)...and what happens this morning...raining here.

I do not believe it...not a good start to the year...surely it can only get better.

We feel you pain PinHead!! We also headed to Wello on NYD. Beautiful at home, 1 1/2hr trip up to be greeted by chop!! Headed out anyway, found a promising spot not far from boat ramp. We both had hooks straighten a few times, up graded jig heads and pulled in a few under size pinky's, the big fish seemed to disapear. I latched on to a nice flatty only to have the loop knot slip though the eye of the jig head as the captain was about to net it. > Up stumps to move back for another drift. Captain stops suddenly and low and behold there is smoke billowing out from under his console. OOPS BUGGER!! Small electrical fire. Well thats the end to the days fishing. The radio had a dodgy wire or two. Bloody thing wasn't even switch on. So back to the boat ramp to assess the damage, didn't want to risk anything so off home again. 3 hrs travel for about 1 1/2 hours fishing. We did get to see the sunrise over the bay for the New Year!! All electrics working now thanks goodness we didn't loose anything!! It Can Only Get Better.
    Hope you feel better soon!!
    Cheers Kim

Hey guys think yourselves lucky to be able to get out there, i had a young lady run a light and clean up my hilux saturday night so that means no tow vehicle anymore, what makes it worse is that the old man took a weeks holidays to come fishing. But things can only get better for 2007, well ill hold that thought until the insurance assessor checks the car out this afternoon.

    Re: Hopefully Today

kinda like know the feeling greg,,,,,i got a nice shimano tss4 d special for a late chrissie present,,,,

don't know why,,,but i decided to load it to the rod and throw it in the holders and worry about filling it with line whilst paying a visit to ningi creek,,,,save time i 'spose and it would have given me something to do if the fish weren't on the chew,,

    problem,,,on arriving,,,,no spool

the front drag knob must have been loose,,,and come off,,,in turn so did the spool

i didn't see it fall,,,so it could be anywhere,,,

caught one cod after 3 hrs,,,so at least a fish for tea,,,,bloody expensive fish tho',,,,,,,,,,,lol

    choppa
    can it get any better??????????????,,,,,,,,,,,,,,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgG_TxEPaQE
