Good luck mate, make sure you let us all konw how you go. Tried up at saunders beach a couple of days ago and ended up having to leave. Too much weed in the water. was nice day tho, so hopefull,y the weather holds out for you

I am heading tommorrow mornig to troll Middle reef then out to the Maggie Shoals. Thinking about leaving the coast guard at about 0530h. Maybe head out one of the reefs if nothing is happening at the shoals.

Looks like the weather will be spot on. Heaps of boats went past my place early this morning. I would be going straight to the reef.

Yeah Dan ended up leaving the ramp about 6 did a couple of trolling runs through middle with nothing. headed out to Salamanda only to get blown off it headed back in and did a bt in the ross creek for a couple of hours boated a nice jack 43 cm. Then we headed back out to Middle reef for another couple of trolling runs. A bit better this time I got a 4 1/2, 5 foot reef shark to the boat after about 10 minutes. He ended up bitting me off and took my fav Halco Laserpro, bit me off through wire leader.Oh well thems the breaks. Might have some better luck next time.

Hi Rod, bugga about the wind at Salli, i thought it would of been calm. Those winds you experienced must have been inshore only, winds were under 15 knots at the reef.
You must be just about ready for that reef trip by now, if your keen I'm heading out on Saturday for a reef session if you want to tag along in your boat.
Have you worked out what sort of range your likely to get out of your tank? #
Still unsure of how much range. Probably did 80-90km yesterday and had a 1/4 of a tank left. wont be able to head on Saturday Lee as the boss has put her foot down. It will be a family day spent off the water, as I go back to work on Monday she wants us to have some time together before that. Thaks heaps for the offer though.
Forgot to add the water temp was 28.8deg yesterday.
