Re: Day out with Dug
I have picked up a few Dart on SP's in the surf. Red, orange or blood-worm seem good.
Nothing big yet but it is still in the research stage. Let us know if you have any success.
I need another rod and reel to really do it well but I just don't seem to be able to broch the subject casually just yet

Re: Day out with Dug
Dug I know exactly what you mean about extra gear :-) I'm thinking I'd probably need about a 9ft rod and pretty light line to be able to cast far enough.
I rarely get to the surf these days but some day I'll give it a shot and I'll let you know how I go. They're great fish those dart. Thanks for the info.

Re: Day out with Dug
Zeeke,
I was out there to the south on New Years Day. We flipped a coin, North or South after going out through Moolooaba. Bugga, should have gone North and met up with you guys AND maybe got a couple of Spotties
The conditions were awesome and fishies everywhere.
By the way, have caught Dart off the beach using Softies. A trip to Fraser a few years back had us catching quality Dart on Mister Twisters (single Tail) spun through the waves breaking into the back of the gutter.
Cheers

Re: Day out with Dug
Hey Cragie
How did you go down south?
I picked up some small transparent SP's today I want to try letting them drift down through a feeding school and see if anything picks them up :-)
I really need a new rod and reel:-)
