Day out with Dug

I look drugged in some of these picts, Spent new years day with Dug, he was flicking slugs, i was waving the wand.. Mack tuna, spottie mack and swallowtail dart for me, Dug got a mack tuna and dropped a spottie next to the boat..

lol zeeke. yer those birds are a pain. stupid things fly after ur lures. my dad got a few of em recently. and where abouts were u fishing??? did u get the bird on the fly rod or the spin

bird was following my boat around, it was close enough to reach out and grab.. unfortunately, he thought my fly looked like a real baitfish and swam down to grab it, he was only just hooked in the leg.. the point of the hook.. fell out when picking him up off the water.. took a few photos then gave him perching rights on the boat for a few minutes to let him settle down..

Mackerel went busting up, just following the schools

where abouts where you guys fishing???

Stuff everywhere, feeding on really small bait, schools of big dart hanging under the boils picking up the left overs. Birds, tuna, Mackerel, dart who would be a baitfish?


A good day out.


Does anyone know of a way of hooking a small teaser fly to a Mack slug to pick up fish when they are feeding on such small clear bait?
