Hey Gaffit, how did you go using deck winches ?? Banshee suggested using them once before, easier or harder than with the rod, i was always concerned about getting them off the bottom with no leverage??? Muzz.

hey onerabbit

alot quicker getting them up and alot easier . we used spider wire with jinkia traces,and a sash weight to get down .a bit slower getting down to the bottom then a rod and have to hold line so dont get backlash .used to lock the star drag up and just wind them to bring them up didnt give them a inch

Cheers gaffit, on the days when the current is up, the winch with the sash weight sounds like the go, only fish with 2lb on the rod.
